Jellyfish that glow at night is pretty normal but what about the jellyfish that poops glitter? Well, you’re about to find more about this glitter poop jellyfish, its name is the bloody-belly comb jellyfish or its scientific name Lampocteis and is one of the only recorded species of its genus. Also is one of the creatures that has likely lived unbothered in the ocean by humanity until about 20 years ago. When it was discovered during an excursion conducted by researchers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium Research Institute. The Monterey Bay Aquarium is where it is on display, in case you wanted to know. The jelly (jellyfish) is a beautiful bright red color, which almost resembles a neon light sign. It also happens to reside 3,000 feet under the ocean's surface, and it is very dark that far down where most light doesn't reach. Even though the jelly is a bright red, the red helps it blend better into the darkness and they go unnoticed by predators because of it as well. It has only been photographed a handful of times due to how dark it is. There is still no word about why its poop is so close to looking like glitter, but they are still researching to figure out more about this magnificent creature and all the other species that live in that dark abyss. I also highly recommend looking at pictures of this jelly and videos about them too.
