Full 138 Team FBS Realignment

With everyone throwing their two cents in on how the FBS should look, as someone who has a special interest in what-if scenarios, I thought I should take a crack at it. So here I am throwing my hat into the ring. Here is my FULL 138 team realignment of the FBS. Starting in alphabetical order.

ACC- Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Miami (FL), UNC, NC State, South Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech, and Wake Forrest. The largest of the conferences with 12, most of these schools are historic ACC schools, so it only seemed right to pair them all back up.

American- Cincinnati, James Madison, Liberty, Louisville, Marshall, Memphis, Tulane, UCF, USF, and West Virginia. The best of the old Big East with the best of the Mid-Atlantic region.

Big 10- Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Northwestern, Ohio State, Purdue, and Wisconsin. The original Big 10. Enough said.

Big 8- Colorado, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Oklahoma State. There was enough hatred in this conference to power the heartland for a century. It was only when the Texas schools joined that it was ruined.

Conference USA- Arkansas State, Middle Tennessee State, Missouri State, North Texas, Sam Houston State, Texas State, Tulsa, UTEP, UTSA, and Western Kentucky. Central time zone with some good matchups.

Gulf Coast Conference- Jacksonville State, Louisiana, Lafayette, Louisiana Tech, South Alabama, Southern Mississippi, Troy, UAB, and ULM. A new conference that is for the Gulf Coast states of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Independents- Army, Navy, and Notre Dame. The traditional independents.

MAC- Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Kent State, Miami, Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan. The true Maction.

Mountain West- Air Force, Boise State, BYU, Colorado State, North Dakota State, Utah, Utah State, and Wyoming. The all-star team of the MWC, plus a new kid on the block.

Northeast- Boston College, Buffalo, Delaware, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Syracuse, Temple, UConn, and UMass. The isolated Northeast teams up to create a league worthy of playing in the biggest stadiums in the region.

PAC 10- Arizona, Arizona State, California, Oregon, Oregon State, UCLA, USC, Washington, and Washington State. The PAC-10 was the reason for a lot of changes in the FBS, so bringing them back might heal the current FBS landscape.

SWC- Arkansas, Baylor, Houston, SMU, Rice, TCU, Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas Tech. The same nine teams that were there just before everything began to go downhill.

SEC- Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Tennessee, and Vanderbilt. The gang from 1932 is back and just fine.

Sun Belt- App State, Charlotte, ECU, Florida Atlantic, FIU, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Kennesaw State, and Old Dominion. The mid-major version of the ACC.

And finally the

WAC- Fresno State, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, New Mexico State, Sacramento State, San Diego State, San Jose State, and UNLV. A return of the king. A conference that the West Coast can be proud of.
