Predicting The Next UFL Team Names

Back in January, I wrote an article about expanding the UFL to 32 teams and what that could look like. Well, the UFL announced the new cities they will be expanding to, and wouldn’t you know it, three of the cities I predicted were the ones selected for expansion. Colorado Springs was the only wildcard I did not see coming, as to many it is seen as too small of a market. In that same article, I named the teams, and with Rhode Island (Providence) naming its team the Breakers using an old USFL brand, I thought, why not try and guess the next three team names as well.

Colorado. The other team joining the UFL next year is Colorado Springs, playing at Weidner Field, an 8,000-seat USL soccer stadium. Now the most obvious choice is for the team to take the name Gold from the Denver Gold of the original USFL and become the Colorado Gold. However, a sneaky idea is to keep the old Arizona identity and name the team the Colorado Wranglers. Saw a few people say that the team should be named the Summit, which is nice but less likely. Colorado Gold

Oklahoma. Coming into the UFL in 2028 and playing at the currently under-construction 10,000-seat MAPS 4 Multipurpose Stadium in downtown OKC. As I stated in the previous article, the USFL had a team in Oklahoma named the Outlaws, and based on the fact that the expansion is listed as just Oklahoma, it seems that's the direction we are heading in. Oklahoma Outlaws

Utah. Salt Lake City gets another crack at a spring football team, the previous being the Salt Lake Stallions of the ill-forgotten AAF. Thankfully, this time the team will be playing in the 20,213-seat America First Field instead of the 54,000-seat Rice–Eccles Stadium. As I said in the article back in January, the names that Utah could use are limited, and without any real USFL history, I had to get creative. I’m going with the Utah Raptors. Just kidding: Utah Express.
