From Gainsville, Florida
The series is deadlocked at six games a piece. Florida tied it up last year.
The Head Coach is Billy Napier. Napier is 11-12 in his second season with the Gators with a 0-1 record in bowl games. Napier was the head coach at Louisiana Layefette, where he won the Sun Belt West every year and the Sun Belt the last two years.
Lost to LSU last week 52-35
Back to the balanced offensive attack this week.
348 Passes TO 337 Runs
The starting QB for Florida is Graham Mertz, with 247 completions on 337 attempts with 2,720 yards, 18 TDS, and two ints. By far the most efficient passer Mizzou has/will play this year.
The RB room is a two-headed monster with Trevor Etienne and Montrell Johnson Jr with a combined 228 attempts, 1,253 yards, and 11 TDs. Johnson Jr has more carries; however, Etienne, like his brother, is a feature back for the Gators down in the red zone, while Johnson is the workhorse back with more carries.
Ricky Pearsall is by far the most dangerous receiving target the Gators have, as he has 397 more yards than the next closest receiver, with 62 receptions for 876 yards and four TDs. Eugene Wilson has five touchdowns on the year.
Back to the weird defensive fronts this week as Florida runs a 4-2-5. This is a very young defense. The oldest on the team is a junior, and they are prone to making mistakes. The D line is an excellent front, however. Umanmielen leads the team in sacks with 5.5. Three different Gators have an INT this year. They also have four fumble recoveries. It is important to note that Florida is -2 in the turnover department. Mizzou is +2
