Mizzou Basketball made Me Crash Out.

So, in case you have been living under a rock, I am a Mizzou fan. I have been since the 2007 Armageddon game vs the school to the west. I have been to Mizzou football, basketball, baseball, softball, and wrestling events since then. Including three road football games, a neutral site basketball and football game, stormed the field, and was at the Cotton Bowl in 2023. I was all set to go to Saint Louis this past Friday to watch Mizzou take on Miami in the NCAA Tournament. Fortunately, or unfortunately, I was unable to go due to a knee injury. Missing an 80-66 loss once again in March for Mizzou. I was told by Mr. Tommy Hailey to live-tweet the game starting at halftime, so here are some of the best tweets.

Death. Taxes. Mizzou having trouble scoring in the NCAA Tournament. Life is torment

Golden opportunity wasted again…….

Update a second Truman has entered the chat……

Mine and My Son's Trumans

I would've rushed the court by this point if I was there already

I'm jumping off a bridge brb

This team lost four straight to end the year. This is an epidemic for Mizzou in basketball

Welp it was fun. Goodbye everyone I'll  see you all in therapy

Mizzou sacrificed the NCAA tournament to beat a ranked Tennessee in baseball……..why do I keep supporting this team?

Needless to say, I was going through it emotionally during the game. This loss means Mizzou has not made it to the second weekend of the NCAA Tournament since 2009. I was 9 years old, and I am now 26. However, this alone wasn’t enough to warrant an article it was my interaction with one @CoachFanning on twitter. Who said an I quote

“Robinson/Barrett

Crowe/Boateng

Pierce/Chronister

Bryant

Burns

Need a portal C and PF

Mack, Randall, Rowe???

This is what you get excited for in 2026-27 for  #Mizzou basketball”

This, for whatever reason, set me off to no end, so I quote-tweeted it by saying

“Why the hell would I be excited? I'm more excited about my dog crapping on the floor than Mizzou basketball at any level right now”

Fanning, seeing that I compared the Tigers to my dog Bandit, said,

Dog crapping on the floor is an insane comp. But hear me out, we just lost, as the lower seed in the tourney with a team that we already didn’t have a huge high hope for. They did fine this season.

I was already enraged thanks to Tommy Hailey, and Danny Santiago responded. What follows is the unedited back and forth between me and @CoachFanning.

CF “Dog crapping on the floor is an insane comp. But hear me out, we just lost, as the lower seed in the tourney with a team that we already didn’t have a huge high hope for. They did fine this season.

Me “If a first round exit is fine for you that's cool. I am not old enough to remember watching Mizzou basketball play in the second weekend however. So it's not fine for me. My dog and Mizzou basketball have one thing in common. They both crap themselves in March

CF “Your dog might need to see a vet if it only craps in March.

I’m not fine with it, I just know there isn’t an alternative that I see that’s immediately better. We are not exactly the top destination for coaches. Let him cook for one more year

Me “I agree with you that we aren't a top coaching destination. With that being said we haven't been a great basketball school since we left the Big 12 (thanks Texas) and I am afraid much like baseball was it will be neglected. And that is what most Mizzou fans are mad about. I used to have a lot of passion for Mizzou. I would spend hours writing about it. For three years I ate, slept and drank Mizzou. I want my son to have the passion I did, but now it's just gotten sad and it shouldn't be that way. I want the feeling of the Cotton Bowl for everyone.

So yes, it was an interesting 24 hours for me, thank you for asking. MIZ
